Google street view sparks protests

July 10th, 2008

The new Google steet view has sparked protests by privacy groups. The new Google feature allows users a 360 degree view of photographs taken of streets by Google’s car mounted cameras. The objection is that car number plates can be read and that driver’s right to privacy has been affected. Google has agreed to blur the number plates on cars in the photographs but warns that no blurring technique is 100% effective.
